Black-eyed Susan vine - you must plant one of these in your garden this year - its the vine that keeps going strong all summer long

I am on a one woman quest to make the Black-eyed Susan vine (Thunbergia alata) as popular as the super-needy impatiens or the mundane marigolds.

UGH. I hate ants! I'm going to try these 5 different all natural ways to get rid of them..

We really haven’t had a problem with ants here in Virginia, but this year, I have noticed a few ant hills forming so delicately on my front porch.  It’s not anywhere near as bad as it was in Southwest Georgia where the fire ants would attack the second you stepped into the grass, but I still don’t want those little creepy crawlies hanging out with me on my nice front porch!

This easy modern DIY outdoor bench was made with $35 of materials - and uses no nails or screws!! Looks just like a Williams Sonoma one for $1,400. Wouldn't this look great in your garden?

Every porch needs a bench, at least that’s what Steve and I decided the other day. Actually Steve has had the concept for this bench in his head for awhile. He wanted to make something without screws and hardware . . . completely with adhesive. Yet he had some other qualifications as well – the bench had to be modern, inexpensive, load bearing (no falling apart please), and look great.

Did you know you can make cool DIY marbled mugs with nail polish?? It's easy and you can have gorgeous mugs in minutes that cost less than a dollar each!

I am SO excited to share this project with you, DIY Candy friends! I have been seeing the marbling trend all over Pinterest lately and finally succumbed to e-peer pressure and tried it out for myself over the weekend. I was so inspired by this gorgeous post where they marbled mugs and decided I had to start there. The best thing about this project is it only costs a couple of dollars to make and even less time to finish. I found my mugs for $.79 each at Goodwill and used nail polish I already had at home which means I was able to make 6 mugs for less than $5! It’s a steal with a BIG payoff. Plus, I’m obsessed with the outcome.
